My race Saturday went very well! I ran the second fastest half marathon of my life, with a time of 1 hour and 50 mins! This was the 41st race of my life and one of the prettiest ones. If you have never been to Viola, TN I strongly suggest you take a little drive down there and check the place out! It’s a lot easier driving across those hills than it is running across those hills! ha

The Storm Prediction Center has placed our region in the marginal risk for severe storms today. The marginal risk is the lowest of the severe weather threat categories. While one or two storms could be a bit strong, widespread severe weather is not expected, by any means.
A strong cold front today will bring cooler air to the region, but a reinforcing shot of cooler air arrives Thursday. By Friday morning, some of us could be seeing our first scattered frost. That threat increases for Saturday morning.

Today: Scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely by this afternoon and evening. Winds will be breezy ahead of and behind our cold front.
Tuesday: A chance for mainly morning showers, otherwise skies will be partly to mostly cloudy throughout the day.
Wednesday: Sunny and pleasant.
Thursday: Partly cloudy skies will move in with another cold front. That front should be dry. Possible scattered frost after midnight.
Friday: Patchy morning frost, then mostly sunny skies. Cooler.
Saturday: Morning patchy frost, otherwise mostly sunny and cool.
Sunday: Partly cloudy and warmer. Another weak system gets ready to move through, possibly bringing a shower or two by night. If the front speeds up, rain chances could increase a bit for this day. I’ll watch it closely.

Today is looking wet, especially this afternoon and evening. Tomorrow probably won’t be half bad, but it will likely be too wet from today’s rain and possible Tuesday-morning showers to get much done in hay. Then, we are all set for a string of great days to get that Fall hay harvest about wrapped up! Looking into next week, the overall weather pattern looks to be cool and dry. A weak system may bring a shower Sunday, but that’s very uncertain.

Long Range Outlook
The outlook for next weekend and into next week is featuring hot and dry conditions out west, and cold and dry conditions in the eastern US. Those below-normal temperatures just bullseye our area! Normal highs this time of year for Crossville are in lower 70s, while lows are in the lower 50s. If this outlook verifies, we could be as much as 15-20 degrees below normal next week.
