NASA Nerdology 

In December of 1978, the Pioneer Venus Orbiter (Pioneer 12) reached Venetian orbit. The mission was only supposed to last for one Venusian year, but the Orbiter continued returning data until 1992. Now that’s called “getting your money’s worth!”
