Meteorologist Mark’s Wx Thoughts (New!)
A very strong cold front will bring another shot of reinforcing cold air to the region by Friday evening. This could lead to some more snow chances by Friday night and Saturday. The greatest concentration of moisture may be found north of I-40, though details on that are unclear. In fact, details on this whole snow scenario are vague, at best, but we do tend to get snow showers on the plateau from this type of setup. I’ll keep a close eye on things!
Wx Threats for the Next 7 Days
A strong cold front will move through the region on Friday. Some light precipitation could fall with this frontal passage and that should be in the form of light rain. However, as colder air quickly spills in, that rain could turn to light snow. There are indications that the light snow could linger into Saturday, when it may accumulate. I’m watching this very closely.

In January 1942, Pan Am Pilot Robert Ford completed the first around the world flight by a commercial airliner. Stranded in the Pacific after the attack on Pearl Harbor, he was ordered to reach New York City by flying westward.
