An interesting day, for sure. Precip moved in while the air was still cool and dry. That led to some sleet across the area. That should all be over with now. Thankfully, temps were well above freezing across the plateau, keeping us safe from accumulation.
Tonight, winds will really pick up. A wind advisory will go into effect at 6:00 pm. Winds could gust to 40 mph. Be sure and secure any loose objects before it gets dark out.
We could hear a rumble of thunder overnight, though most of that activity should be west of the plateau. No severe weather is expected.
Winds will be out of the south tonight and that will lead to temps going up, rather than down, overnight. Temps across southern Middle TN are in the mid to upper 50s at this hour!
For those of you who would like a little snow, the forecast is looking better for that on Monday! Light snow should develop Sunday night and be with us through much of Monday. Confidence is increasing that we’ll see some snow. I mentioned in this morning’s blog that if trends continue I would bump us up to the 1-2 inch snow range. That has certainly happened today, so I’m making that adjustment.

Also, I’m bravely going where no man has gone before……
I’m adding a graphic to forecast the chance for a SNOW DAY on Monday! I know you teachers and students will appreciate this!
Introducing…..the long awaited for ……SNOW DAY SCALE! 🙂
