My update is coming earlier than expected and for good reason…I’m giving the All Clear!
Summary: The atmosphere is rapidly stabilizing throughout the Southeast. That is great news for us but even better news for folks to our south, especially in Alabama. In spite of ALL the severe weather today, there have been no deaths to report in all of the US! If that’s not a testament to the usefulness of the NWS, I don’t know what is. There have been few injuries.
The rainfall we’re getting now has really helped keep things more stable. The Storm Prediction Center no longer anticipates issuing any watches for our area and the NWS in Nashville doesn’t expect to issue any warnings for us tonight.
We could still have some thunder tonight, as well as some heavy downpours of rain.
My concern is now on the “very low” end of the spectrum and my confidence is high in that forecast. In other words, I feel pretty darn good about saying the severe threat has dodged us this time. The NWS Nashville is issuing similar statements, stating that the tornado threat is over for our area.

We’ll deal with showers tomorrow. With a lot of cold air aloft, some showers could contain small hail/graupel. Friday is looking partly to mostly cloudy and cooler, with highs near 50.
The weekend is looking beautiful! Make plans to get outside! Highs should be near 60, with light to calm winds.
Thank you for following! I’ll have a full blog update in the morning!
I hope you all have a pleasant rest of your night. Don’t forget to remember those who were less fortunate than us today.
