5:20 Storm Update

As we go through the evening, isolated storms may continue to pop up across northern Cumberland and all of Fentress Counties. Any of these storms will be capable of producing brief tornadoes with little or no warning. We don’t have a lot of instability but we have a lot of “spin” in the atmosphere. New storms are trying to fire off across the plateau and we need to keep a close eye on them, just to be safe. This disturbance will be out of here by dark. These storms are so “small” that they don’t even have lightning with them.

The main cell I would watch is that one between Cookeville and Monterey. These storms are moving northeast, so that cell east of Cookeville would be moving into Fentress County later on.
