April Snow Coming Tonight?

I’m sure by now you’ve heard that we’re getting snow tonight. The good news is that it won’t last long and the ground is warm enough to prevent travel issues. Still, I’m sure some of us will have some “snow on the Daffodils” pictures to share. The best chance for snow looks to be from 4:00 – 7:00 a.m.

Make sure you’re ready for the cold! My goodness, how different tomorrow will be from today! It will be one of those days where it’s REALLY easy to spot the folks who don’t follow Meteorologist Mark. They think spring has sprung. You know winter is coming for a visit. There’s liable to be some cold people wearing shorts tomorrow!

The current weather map shows it all. The colder air is already moving into northwest TN. And yes, that’s snow on the radar behind the front. Look at that temperature difference ahead of and behind the front! Brrrrrrr All of that is moving our way.

The winds will make it feel even colder.

After the morning snow flurries/snow showers, we should see some sun by afternoon.

I do have some good news about the freeze expected Wednesday night. There is a chance that we’ll see some high thin clouds move in during the night. If that happens, our temps will only be in the lower 30s, rather than the upper 20s. That would be nice!

Temps will warm as we end the week, with rain showers coming Saturday. Some of us may pick up a good soaking (at least one half inch of rain). Severe storms continue to look very unlikely.

Temps will warm even more next week, with 80-degree readings looking possible. With that warmth comes more storm chances by mid-week. It’s April in Tennessee….snow one week, storms the next.

You all have a wonderful evening. The Moon is very pretty right now (nearly right overhead). Step out and enjoy the view and the mild evening!
