Meteorologist Mark’s 5-Day Wx Concerns

Meteorologist Mark’s Wx Discussion

Frost advisories have been issued for southeast Kentucky for tonight. I think many of us here on the plateau will stay just warm enough to avoid frost. Still, those of you reading this who live along and north of a line from Livingston to Jamestown could see some patchy frost in the morning.

We have a beautiful weekend in store for us. The next system seems to be slowing, which would give us a decent Sunday. Hopefully, that system won’t speed back up.

For now, the rain and storms for Monday and Tuesday look to behave themselves. It may just be a good ole rain event. We could use it. If it weren’t for that system, I would be worried about light drought conditions settling in. With next week’s rain, though, I think we’ll be ok, though that rain will likely just catch us up and get us even again. I’ll keep an eye on that system and make sure nothing severe pops up.

Tomorrow’s Tennessee Weather

The first day of May is anything but a distress call! Look for plenty of sunshine from Memphis to Bristol. That May sunshine will send high temps to near 80 for much of West and Middle Tennessee, and in the low to mid 70s for the plateau and East Tennessee.

Today’s National Weather Map

Flash flooding threatens the Texas coastal region today. Farther north, low humidity and gusty winds will fan a wildfire danger across eastern Montana. And yes, that’s rain and snow mixed for the Northeast.

“I’ve got the world in my window,” Collins.

Michael Collins snapped this photo of the lunar module returning to the command module after landing on the Moon. With the Earth in the background, all of humanity is in this photograph, save Collins himself. Powerful stuff right there, folks.
