Strong storms, at times even severe, continue moving southward from Kentucky this morning. These storms are gradually weakening but they can still put down some very gusty winds. The storms seem to be most notorious for putting down lots and lots of cloud to ground lightning. Many of us have been awakened by the results of that lightning this morning!
Very heavy rainfall has been occurring with some of these storms too. Though they are rather short-lived bursts of rain, they can temporarily put a lot of water on the roads. Be safe if you’re out and about this morning.
The current radar shows a cluster of strong storms moving southward. Cumberland County has been highlighted for reference. These storms have not showed any signs of rotation.
