The Storm Prediction Center just issued a special discussion for parts of southern Middle TN. That’s the red-circled area you see on the weatherTAP map below. They discuss that, while storms are certainly developing across the region this afternoon, they are staying below severe limits. They do note that one or two storms could become severe, but they do not expect the threat to become widespread enough to issue any severe weather watches.
The dark green shading on the map above is the marginal risk for severe storms. That has been trimmed back from us just a bit, but we should still be aware that any storm that develops in this heat and humidity can always pack a punch.
