MM’s Wx Concerns

Hay Weather Forecast

NOTE: The forecast for Wednesday & Thursday is heavily dependent upon what a tropical system is the Gulf does. If it tracks closer to us, we’ll see more rain. That system is expected to develop today and that will allow for better guidance as to where it will eventually go. Stay tuned.

Today’s Stats

Almanac for Yesterday

On This Day in Wx History

2000- The Rutherford County communications center on Old Salem Road loses all radio and telephone lines, and its 911 call board, after taking a lightning strike. Dispatchers are forced to move into the EMS director’s mobile unit in the parking lot.

Yesterday’s National Temperature Extremes

High:  113° at Death Valley, California

Low:   30° at Stanley, Idaho

Tropics

Somebody threw a party in the tropics last night and now they’re drunk! (ha)

Seriously, we have a tropical system developing in the Gulf today and that will bring heavy rain and gusty winds to Texas sooner than later. That system could affect are region by midweek. Another system is likely to develop off the East Coast this week and could be a threat to the US. Those two other areas near Africa have a long way to go before we can worry about them. The area nearest Spain will be no threat to the US.
