An Autumn airmass in sight
I shared this on Facebook yesterday but it’s worthy of being shared here, too. LOL

MM’s Wx Concerns
If you have outdoor plans this weekend, be safe around any lightning! Also, any storm that develops could produce torrential rainfall. Be safe if out driving and caught in one of these storms.
Hay Weather Forecast
The hay weather forecast is looking great by Thursday! Just hold on! 🙂
Almanac for Yesterday
On This Day in Wx History
1912- According to one newspaper account, “A terrific windstorm struck Northeastern Montgomery County, Tennessee, and Southeastern Todd County, Kentucky, yesterday afternoon, destroying five residences and six tobacco barns. Total loss in this section, $75,000. A flock of several hundred sparrows was blown again[st] a wall and killed.”
Yesterday’s National Temperature Extremes
High: 109° at Ocotillo Wells, California
Low: 23° at both Peter Sinks, Utah & Stanley, Idaho
The tropics remain active but we continue to have no immediate threats to the US. Both of the red-shaded regions are expected to become tropical storms this weekend. Neither appear to be a threat to the mainland, though the one between the US and Africa can’t be completely dismissed just yet. The remnants of Nicholas continue to hang out over Louisiana.

Today’s Tennessee Weather
A very warm and humid airmass will lead to scattered showers and thunderstorms across the state today, especially in the afternoon and evening. Rain chances are set at about 50% for West and Middle Tennessee, dropping to around 30% for East Tennessee. Any storm that develops could produce heavy rainfall. Clouds and increased rain chances should keep afternoon highs in the low to mid 80s.
Tonight’s Tennessee Weather
Rain chances drop off a bit for the night to around 30%. Otherwise, look for mostly cloudy skies and humid overnight lows around 70 degrees.
The Weekend’s Tennessee Weather
Unsettled weather continues into the weekend, with both Saturday and Sunday featuring partly to mostly cloudy skies across the state and scattered showers and thunderstorms, especially in the afternoons and evenings. Look for afternoon highs each day to be in the low to mid 80s statewide. If you have outdoor plans, keep an eye to the sky and be ready to seek shelter from nearby lightning.
