Monday: Mostly cloudy, with rain and thunder likely. A flash flood watch is in effect.

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy, with scattered showers and thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon and evening.

Wednesday: Mainly morning showers and thunder, otherwise mostly cloudy. Happy first day of fall!

Thursday – Saturday: Mostly sunny skies and very pleasant. Perfect weather for the Homestead Apple Festival this weekend!

1926 – A hurricane which hit Miami, Florida, on the 18th, pounded Pensacola with wind gusts to 152 mph. Winds raged in excess of 100 mph for four hours, and above 75 mph for 20 hours.

High:  106° at Zapata, Texas

Low:   26° at Old Faithful, Wyoming & at West Yellowstone, Montana

Today’s Tennessee Weather 

Rain and storms are likely for the start of the new work week. Some of that rainfall could be heavy. Flash flood watches are in effect for all of West and Middle Tennessee. Those watches extend into the Chattanooga area, as well. Be careful in flood-prone areas and never drive across flooded roads. Afternoon highs will be near 80 degrees.

Tonight’s Tennessee Weather

Scattered showers and thunderstorms continue into the evening. Low temperatures should drop to near 70 degrees.

Tomorrow’s Tennessee Weather 

A strong cold front will move into the state for Tuesday and Tuesday night, bringing scattered showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms could be on the strong side. Afternoon highs will once again top out near 80 degrees for most.
