The area of low pressure off the Carolina coast looks much more organized this morning. It now has a 40% chance for developing into a tropical depression or tropical storm today or tonight. By Sunday, upper level winds will increase and the system will fall apart. Regardless of development, the system will bring heavy downpours and gusty winds to the Outer Banks this weekend.

I had a wonderful time talking with the Uplands Lifelong Learning Institute last evening! I spoke about my journey to being a meteorologist and all that entails. I had some great questions and an audience that seemed to be captivated. I surely hope they were! haha I hope to be invited back again someday. Thank you, Uplands!

In Adult Education we not only help folks earn their GEDs, we also help people who have been out of school a while and need to brush up on courses they had in high school. This can give you the confidence and skills you need to thrive in college or whatever else your life path may lead. If you or anyone you know could benefit from our services, just let me know! And, of course, it can remain completely confidential. You just might end up with Meteorologist Mark as a teacher! If not me, then I can assure you any of our teachers would be a wonderful source of help and encouragement!
