Warning for Cumberland and more warnings for Fentress

A severe thunderstorm warning is now in effect for northern Cumberland County, basically north of the interstate. For reference, Shoney’s is north of the interstate (someone always asks. ha). The warning is in effect until 8:00 a.m.

This is for damaging straight-line winds that are possible with this line. Just seek shelter.

A tornado warning for a brief spin-up is now active for extreme northern Fentress too. This is for you folks north of Jamestown. Nothing has been confirmed but you should act as if there has been.

The weather radios are having some technical issues this morning. I recommend downloading the Red Cross Tornado app. There are also weather warning apps from local news networks, like ch 6, 8, and 10 out of Knoxville.

The line is fast approaching. Damaging, straight-line winds remain the main threat, though an isolated and brief tornado spin-up remains possible.
