Life Update
I’ve shared this on Facebook, but I need to share it here, as well. On Tuesday, January 4, I will begin a new career in public service. I have been hired as the new Deputy Director for Creative Compassion, a local nonprofit whose mission is to help those with unaffordable housing needs. I am so very excited to be taking on this role! I have served as a board member for Creative for three years.
The flexibility of the job allows to keep my job in Adult Education! I will continue with them part-time, working in the Cumberland and Fentress county jails helping inmates get their diplomas, as well as a couple of evening classes at the Crossville campus for folks who need more education.
Most importantly for you….I will still be doing the weather! You will, however, notice a few changes with today’s blog. I need a simpler way of conveying info that doesn’t take so much of my daily time. During times of severe weather, I will always cover things very substantially.

The next MM Kids class will be Tuesday, December 14, at 4:00 pm at TCAT. Suggested age range is 8 yrs and up.
NOTE: Class is full!
This hour-long class focuses on weather folklore. We’ll discuss what works and what doesn’t and why. We’ll also discuss just how complex our planet’s atmosphere is and what that means for folklore. A hands-on activity will make the lesson come to life!
