Winter Weather Advisory

A winter weather advisory will now go into effect at 3:00 pm. Light snow accumulations will cause some slick spots on area roads later this afternoon and evening. That advisory go through the night.

Guidance has been trending a bit higher with snow totals, with some guidance suggesting up to two inches for northern Fentress County. The rest of us should see one inch or less, though I wouldn’t be surprised if areas around Mayland and Monterey pick up a bit more than an inch. Any of us could pick various amounts, depending on how many snow showers you end up getting.

Keep in mind that low temps tonight around 10 degrees and northwest winds gusting to 20 mph will create dangerous wind chills. Don’t travel tonight if you don’t have to. Also, make sure those outdoor fur babies have a warm place to sleep out of the wind.
