Winter Retreats & Spring Returns

School Visit

I had a great time visiting Christian Academy of the Cumberlands on Friday! They had some great questions and were very excited about there being snow in the forecast! I always tell them to invite me back anytime.

MM’s Severe Wx Concerns

MM’s Winter Wx Concerns

On This Day in Wx History

1933- A powerful and historic F-3 tornado touches down 4 miles west of downtown Nashville, killing 15, injuring 45, and continues for 45 miles, moving through Wilson and Smith Counties.

Sixty-five years later another F-3 would take nearly the same path. Then, in 2020 another F-3 paralleled that track just to the north.

MM News

Thanks to generous donations and a grant from Volunteer Electric, we raised enough money for tablets for my Meteorologist Mark classes for kids!!! How awesome is that!? In addition to the hands-on activities that we do, these tablets will even further enhance the learning experience! Thank you all so very much!

The last MM class was postponed due to weather. That class has been rescheduled for March 24. We are always thankful for TCAT’s support in hosting our classes and for being so good to us!

Our next book signing event will be Saturday, April 30 at GrinderHouse Coffee on Main Street in Crossville. Come out and visit us between 11:00-1:00! We sure would love to see ya!

I’m proud to be the Deputy Director of Creative because Creative benefits mainly local low-income residents with various housing needs, including rent, utility, or mortgage assistance. Anyone can encounter a time when they need a hand up and Creative is here to help in any way we can! Since January 1st we’ve helped 12 families with rent/mortgage/utility assistance who have encountered loss of work mainly due to sickness. We can help with these needs even if you are not considered “low-income” because we know anyone can fall on hard times because of sickness or a death in the family.

With the help of donations, we’ll be able to help even more folks, including our veterans and elderly residents who need our help. For more info on our organization or to give (any amount is appreciated!), please see https://ccihomes.org/ and/or let me know if you have any questions or fundraising ideas!
