WHAT: Strong to severe thunderstorms
WHEN: Friday afternoon after 3:00 pm (timing will be updated in the morning)
MAIN HAZARDS: Large hail, damaging straight-line winds, and the possibility of an isolated tornado

The Storm Prediction Center has now upgraded much of Middle Tennessee to the slight risk for severe weather. This is an upgrade from this morning’s marginal risk. The Cumberland Plateau remains in the marginal risk. An upgrade for our area to slight risk is possible in Friday morning’s outlooks, so be aware of that. The short-term radar simulation is not handling this event well just yet, so I’ll not be sharing that at this time.

The main threat timeframe will come in the afternoon and evening. The morning hours are looking fine. My concern, overall, remains low but not zero.
