Skies should cooperate for us to see the STARLINK Satellite “train” going overhead tonight. These are space-based internet providing satellites that are going into orbit. They will look like a long line of bright white dots. They will be visible from about 7:50 – 8:05 central time. Hopefully our sky won’t be too hazy to see them good.
The satellites will travel from northwest to southeast. I recommend going outside about ten minutes before they come over to let your eyes adjust to the dark.
I’ve looked for these before but didn’t have any luck. I’m hoping for a successful sighting this evening!
These are part of the enormous fleet of satellites that SpaceX is putting into space to provide internet to remote areas of the world.
A big thanks to both Ken Weathers of WATE Knoxville and Cassie Nall of WBIR Knoxville for the reminder about this! They both invite you to take pictures and videos and tag them on their social media sites.
