MM’s Thursday Weather Forecast for April 28

“Life doesn’t require that we be the best, only that we try our best,” H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

On This Day

1928 – A coastal storm produced tremendous late season snows in the Central Appalachians, including 35 inches at Bayard, West Virginia, 31 inches at Somerset, Pennsylvania, and 30 inches at Grantsville MD. High winds accompanying the heavy wet snow uprooted trees and unroofed a number of homes. The storm caused great damage to fruit trees and wild life.

1937 – 1st commercial flight across Pacific operated by Pan Am.

Creative Compassion

Grinder House Coffee Shop on Main Street in Crossville will be hosting a book signing for Rita Reali next Saturday (April 30). That signing will take place from 11:00-1:00. A portion of the proceeds from Rita’s book sales will go to Creative and our mission to help folks who have been impacted by financial emergencies. We can help them pay rent, mortgage, or utility bills. We’ve already helped over a dozen families this year. Come by and see us!
