I just wanted to give a quick update on this afternoon’s forecast. Radar remains clear and will likely remain so for the rest of our daylight hours. That rain/storm chance is now 20%. A big complex of storms is dropping south through Missouri and Arkansas and parts of West TN. That activity is robbing our atmosphere of a lot of energy, keeping our skies clearer.
It had looked like these storms would develop farther east this afternoon and evening, but that does not look to be the case any longer.
Tonight, rain chances go up to 30-40% for showers and thundershowers, which should mainly come after midnight. Severe weather is not expected.
This updated forecast bodes well for eclipse viewing tonight! I’ll have a special post on that coming out at around 7:00 pm.
You all have a wonderful Sunday!
