Tues Afternoon Wx Update (2:20 pm)

A broken line of storms is forming at this hour just west of Nashville and stretching up into Kentucky. This line is moving east and southeast. The Storm Prediction Center has just issued a special discussion, which they circled with the red line on the radar image below, and they are considering a severe t-storm watch that would likely include Fentress County and perhaps even Cumberland. It just depends on how this line evolves over the next couple of hours.

I would expect this to affect the plateau between 4:00 and 6:00 pm, based on current motions of the storms. Again, this is a broken line of storms, so not everyone will see activity. If the line fails to develop southward, most of the activity will stay just to the north of Cumberland and Fentress Counties. We’ll need to watch those showers just west of Nashville and see if they develop into storms. They would be the ones for us to watch out for.

I’ll keep an eye on it!
