We are now north of the cold front that pushed through yesterday, which means a return to partly cloudy skies and generally dry and partly to mostly sunny conditions. By Saturday, a slight risk for a shower or storm returns. By Sunday, another frontal system will bring scattered showers and storms to the region.

1956- An F-1 tornado touches down briefly at Cedar Springs, near Monterey. No injuries are reported.

1923 – The Hollywood Sign is officially dedicated in the hills above Hollywood, Los Angeles. It originally reads “Hollywoodland” but the four last letters are dropped after renovation in 1949.
