Skies will generally be partly cloudy for the next couple of days. Temps will be warm and humidity will be increasing. By Sunday, scattered showres and storms are expected to develop across the plateau. Rain chances increase to 80% on Monday, so hopefully we’ll all get some rain before this system moves out. Rain chances drop back down to 30% by Tuesday.

On This Day
1916 – A dying South Atlantic Coast storm produced torrential rains in the southern Appalachian Mountains. Altapass, North Carolina, was drenched with more than 22 inches of rain, a 24 hour rainfall record for the state. Flooding resulted in considerable damage, particularly to railroads.
1799 – The Rosetta Stone is found in the Egyptian village of Rosetta by French Captain Pierre-François Bouchard during Napoleon’s Egyptian Campaign.
