2:30 a.m. Weather Update

The radar continues to light up tonight and some of the storms lighting it up are quite intense. These storms are moving in from the northwest and contain frequent lightning, heavy rainfall, and very gusty winds. Some of these winds may become strong enough to down trees.

The current radar shows this activity moving in from the west and northwest. A severe t-storm warning is currently active for Fentress County. Other severe t-storm warnings may be issued with these storms.

The Storm Prediction Center has issued a statement saying they do not plan to issue any watches with this activity, so they do not expect widespread severe weather from this. Isolated instances of severe weather are certainly possible, though.

As you can see, there are numerous lightning strikes with these storms, as is typical of summer storms.
