Our rain chances continue to look low today, with plenty of heat and humidity around. There is still a chance for a storm to develop but that’s looking less likely for our area. The Storm Prediction Center has dropped the marginal risk for severe storms for our area. That’s good news!
If a storm should develop this afternoon or evening it could be strong. Just keep that in mind. A great many of us will likely stay dry and storm-free. Just be safe in the heat this afternoon.
Tomorrow continues to look mostly dry, with only a 20% chance for a storm in the afternoon.
Rain chances increase to 50% on Thursday, as another frontal system drops into the area. Those rain and storm chances will then stay elevated through Saturday. Keep that in mind if you plan to hit the Highway 127 yard sales. Be prepared to take shelter, if needed. And keep in mind that being under a big tent during a lightning storm is not advised.
I do have some exciting news to pass along! I have been hired by the Fentress Courier as a weekly columnist! I will be writing weekly articles on weather/space/sciency things. Look for those articles in that paper starting soon! And dont’ worry, I’ll still be wearing my many other hats. 🙂
You all take care. Unless otherwise needed, I’ll be back with a full update in the morning.
