There is a risk for thunderstorms on Tuesday. At thit time, severe weather is not expected, though that risk is being monitored. In addition to thunderstoms, southerly winds are expected to increase Monday night into Tuesday with that storm system, with some gusts reaching 30 mph.

Sunday: Mostly sunny and warm.

Monday: Continued mostly sunny and warm. Clouds increase a bit overnight.

Tuesday: Increasing clouds and warm. Chance of showers by afternoon. Showers and thunderstorms are expected to increase in coverage overnight.

Wednesday: Chance for morning showers, then partly cloudy.

Thursday: Mostly sunny.

Storm Prediction Center (SPC) Forecast Threats for Tuesday

The SPC has placed our area in the “general thunderstorms” category for Tuesday. I’ll keep an eye on that.

The greatest threat is expected to stay well to our southwest.

1963- A prolonged warm spell settles over the mid state. Crossville’s 79 degrees represents the 4th consecutive daily record high temperature.

1091 – Tornado (possible F-4) strikes the heart of London killing two and demolishing the wooden London Bridge.

An area of low pressure is being monitored in the Atlantic. It appears that just as this system might start developing, it will move into cooler waters and struggle. Again, it is being monitored closely.
