Good evening, everyone! I just wanted to let you know that a flash flood warning has been issued for Putnam County, including the city of Cookeville. This does not include Monterey. Radar estimates that 1-4 inches of rain has fallen on parts of Putnam County this evening from slow-moving thunderstorms. Be safe if driving in that area or if you’re headed that way. Flash flooding can strike with little or no warning.
So far, thunderstorms have managed to stay mostly to our west. We could see development within Cumberland County at any time. Any storm that develops can contain very heavy rainfall, lightning, and gusty winds.
Pictured below is the current radar. Storms are nearly stationary.
