MM’s Veterans Day 5-Day

Weather forecast issued Saturday, November 11, 2023

I’ll be at the Alvin C York Veterans Day festivities today! If you’re there say hello! I am scheduled to give a short talk on what Creative Compassion can do for our local veterans!

The “Field of Honor” honors those who have served and sacrificed. It is open to visitors from November 5 -11. This is located in Garrison Park at 542 4th St., just off Miller Ave by the Splash Pad.

Today is the last day to see it! Don’t miss the chance!

MM’s Local Weather Concerns

Dry conditions and low humidity will increase the wildfire danger by this afternoon. Please hold off on any outdoor burning.

MM’s 5-Day Forecast

Yesterday’s Weather Statistics

On This Day

1960- An unusually strong cold outbreak produces a low of 19 degrees at Crossville.

Drought Monitor

The Drought Monitor is updated each Thursday. The map below was updated on Thursday, November 9. Notice how the “exceptional drought” category is now creeping into southeast TN. Exceptional drought is the highest level of drought category on the scale.

Current Snowfall Depth

Today’s Jetstream

Jet streams are relatively narrow bands of strong wind in the upper levels of the atmosphere. Jet streams follow the boundaries between hot and cold air. Since these hot and cold air boundaries are most pronounced in winter, jet streams are the strongest during winter.
