Threat Outlook for the Plateau
MM’s Forecast for the Plateau
This forecast is tailor-made for the Cumberland Plateau by Meteorologist Mark Baldwin each day!
A cool front passed through the area Sunday evening and now we’re on the side of that front with the northerly breezes. Today and tomorrow look absolutely beautiful.
Southerly breezes that could gust to 20 mph on Wednesday will start bringing back the humid air that comes from the Gulf. That will create an opportunity for an isolated shower or storm Wednesday afternoon/evening.
By Thursday, a much better chance for scattered showers and storms returns to the region. Winds Thursday look to be gusty, gusting to 30 mph at times from the southwest. I’ll have to monitor both Thursday & Friday for any severe storm risks or flash flood risks that may come with those storms.
One final note… a tropical disturbance in the Gulf may develop into a more organized area of low pressure over the next 48 hours. That system may impact our forecast toward the end of the week, depending on its eventual track. Stay tuned.
