I’ve added a new bird migration map at the bottom of this site, for those who are interested. That was requested and I’m glad to add it!

MM’s Level of Concern

MM’s Forecast for the Plateau
This forecast is tailor-made for the Cumberland Plateau by Meteorologist Mark Baldwin each day!
Brrrr…my thermometer dipped to 33.6° here in Rinnie early this morning. The fields were white as snow!
Today, we’ll be pleasant, with a warm afternoon and light breezes. A weak system passing to our north may give you folks closer to the Kentucky border a shower tonight. We’ll all be safe from frost tonight thanks to cloud cover.
Our next impactful storm system may bring a shower to the plateau as early as Tuesday afternoon/evening. The better rain chances hold off until Wednesday and Wednesday night. Heavy rain is looking likely if nothing changes. Thankfully, the severe storm threat is looking very low.
That system is followed by colder air once again and we’ll have to keep an eye on Thursday night for frost.

Threats Being Monitored in the 3-7 Day Outlook
As you can see, a heavy rain threat is being monitored for our area for Wednesday. As much as two inches of rain could fall on the plateau, as it looks right now.

Be sure to follow this site and/or download the free Meteorologist Mark app from your app store to get updates about the weather of the Cumberland Plateau sent to your phone as soon as I send them out. Thank you all so much!
Threat Outlook
Today’s severe weather threat can be found in Missouri and Illinois, thought it is a low-end threat.
