MM’s Level of Concern

Threat Outlook for the Plateau
MM’s Forecast for the Plateau
This forecast is tailor-made for the Cumberland Plateau by Meteorologist Mark Baldwin each day!
Watching for storms this afternoon and evening.
This morning we’re seeing a weakening line of storms push into Middle TN. This will continue to weaken. However, more energy, along with heat and humidity, will cause storms to refire along this frontal boundary this afternoon and evening. Any storm that does develop could contain a damaging wind gust, hail, and torrential rainfall. The tornado risk is super low.
Winds today will be a bit breezy, gusting from the southwest at up to 20 mph.
Saturday looks mostly dry before another system moves in Saturday night and Sunday with more showers and storms likely. Sunday will also bring breezy southwest winds of up to 20 mph. Storms Saturday night may pack a punch. I’ll keep a close eye on that.
By Tuesday, northwest breezes usher in low humidity, making for an absolutely beautiful day.
Today’s Hour-By-Hour Forecast
With the scattered nature of storms, it’s hard to pinpoint an hour where rain chances will be highest. Keep an eye on the radar if you’re out and about.

Expected Rainfall Totals for the Next Two Days

SPC Severe Storm Threats
The plateau is on the line of slight and marginal risks. Both are “low but not zero” risks.
