There is a low-end risk for a severe storm today and this evening. I’ll keep you posted. There’s a special 1:00 briefing with the NWS this afternoon and do a special update after that to give you all the latest info.

Check out the new radar, available for those of you accessing the app, brought to us by WeatherTAP! Let me know if you have any feedback! That is GREATLY appreciated! For those accessing this through email, you’ll need to go to the https://meteorologistmark.com/ website to see that radar.
Be sure to follow this site and/or download the free Meteorologist Mark app from your app store to get updates about the weather of the Cumberland Plateau sent to your phone as soon as I send them out. Thank you all so much!

This forecast is tailor-made for the Cumberland Plateau by Meteorologist Mark Baldwin each day!
The Storm Prediction Center has decided to put Tennessee in the marginal risk for severe storms for today and this evening. I think this is probably overdone, but we’ll be mindful of today’s weather just in case. The threat is very low-end.
Hopefully we’ll all get some rain from this system, though that’s not looking too impressive either. Still, a quarter of inch would be nice.
Friday will likely bring another wildfire risk as humidity levels drop again. It will also be a very warm day on the plateau.
A much stronger front moves in Saturday night with better rain chances. Some of us may see up to half an inch of rain with this system (hopefully those totals trend upward). That system leaves us with a nice Sunday but a very chilly Sunday night. Scattered frost is possible by Monday morning.

Threat Outlook
The marginal risk covers almost the entire state of Tennessee for today. The greatest risk for severe storms can be found across Arkansas and then up across New York state.
