The storm appearst to be weakening but remains a warning until 5:15. You folks on the Putnam/Cumberland border where I-40 crosses are the only folks who need to be taking cover. Also, anyone east of Monterey in Putnam County. I think this warning will be allowed to expire at 5:15 without a northward extension of the warning.

The NWS has issued a tornado warning for a storm near Sparta. That storm is moving northeast. This includes much of White County and will eventually impact the Pleasant Hill and Mayland communities, if it holds together. This is likely a brief spinup that we worried about happening today. The storm is currently near Sparta. I’ll keep an eye on it.

Thanks to numerous showers and lots of clouds, the severe storm threat this afternoon continues to be very low. There was a brief tornado warning for Huntsville, Alabama, earlier but that warning expired almost as quickly as it was issued. Still, I’ll keep an eye on the storms this afternoon and let you know if there’s anything you need to know about. The Storm Prediction Center does not expect to issue any watches.

Look for scattered/numerous showers and storms the rest of the day.
