Update
Temps have dropped and those northwest winds are absolutely howling at times. Bundle up if you head out! Wind chills in the single digits are expected later tonight and into Thursday morning.
As for the snow, I’m leaving my graphics the same as with the last couple of updates. We’re seeing lots of snow showers in Kentucky and those, combined with the lift of these northwest winds, should be enough to generate snow showers for us as we go through the night.
One thing I always need to mention in these type of events is that the snow may not show up on radar due to being below the radar beam.
So, for those who want snow, we’ll keep hoping and wishing that we see something from this sytem. These light snow events can by patience testing, believe me. ha And it doesn’t take much for it to be a big nothing burger when not much is forecast to begin with.
I did notice that water vapor imagery is showing lots of moisture in the air to our northwest. This is moisture that should help produce more snow showers on the plateau as we go through the evening.
Be careful if out and about tonight and in the morning, just in case there are some slick spots. As temps have dropped into the 20s, it’s safe to say that anything that falls will stick. Snow chances will remain at 50% the rest of the night.
