Local 5-Day Forecast for the Plateau
Local matters, especially when it comes to your weather forecast! Bringing you your local weather since 2017!
This forecast is tailor-made for the Cumberland Plateau by Meteorologist Mark Baldwin each day!
A nice start to our Saturday, followed by a stormy finish.
Winds are gusty and they are blowing in rain and storms that will be arriving this afternoon and evening. Rainfall totals will likely be around one inch across the area. The storms should exit the area by 6 or 7:00 pm. The line has been slowing a bit, so timing may be adjusted a bit more as we go through the day. Showers follow this system and will be with us through the evening.
Those showers stick around for Sunday but more in the form of the scattered variety of showers. We’ll also see a few showers on Monday before rain chances increase again Monday night.
Scattered showers and thundershowers look to be with us on Tuesday. Then, we see another severe storm threat for Wednesday as a strong cold front (much stronger than today’s) moves through. That leads to colder air and frost by Friday morning.

Be sure to follow this site and/or download the free Meteorologist Mark app from your app store to get updates about the weather of the Cumberland Plateau sent to your phone as soon as I send them out. Thank you all so much!
Threat Outlook
The Storm Prediction Center has shaded an enormous area in the marginal risk for severe storms for Saturday (dark green coloration). This is for the risk for an isolated severe storm.

Another storm system the middle of next week may bring severe storms to the area on Wednesday. That system will be followed by much colder air, which will include frosty mornings.
