We’ve got some heavy downpours developing in certain spots across the plateau this afternoon and those will continue on into this evening. Be careful if you’re out and about, as some of this activity could lead to some brief flash flooding. We have a very moist atmosphere in place and showers and storms are moving very slowly. This combination can lead to too much water falling in too short of time for the ground to soak it all up. This has prompted the folks at the Weather Prediction Center (WPC) to issue an advisory for portions of the plateau, emphasizing the risk for flash flooding this afternoon/evening.
Current radar at 3:22 p.m. CDT.
WPC outlook for flash flooding.
Everyone have a great evening and watch out for those downpours!
