The National Weather Service in Nashville is issuing a wind advisory that will go into effect Tuesday at noon and run through Tuesday night. Southerly winds are expected to be sustained at 15-25 mph, with gusts as high as 50 mph. Be advised that winds this strong can take down shallow-rooted trees in our saturated soils, which could lead to some power outages. We also still have a lot of loose limbs hanging in trees from the ice storm that may try to come down.
That system is blowing in enough warm air to keep the rain liquid on Wednesday, with some heavy downpours possible Wednesday evening.
It looks like we may be dealing with a wintry mix that will change to snow during the night Wednesday, leading to some light accumulation and slick roads Thursday morning. I’ll update all of this in the morning. The next round of significant model data, etc. comes in later this evening.
You all have a great evening and enjoy this sunshine, even if it is cold outside! We are currently 28 degrees with a light breeze. Bundle up before you head to your car after work!
