You may have noticed a hazy look to the sky today. That is actually smoke from fires in Canada. Notice how the jetstream flow is diving straight at us from southern Canada. Some huge wildfires are going on up there and the smoke has made its way into the jetstream flow above. It doesn’t affect us here at the surface, but the fine particulate matter is traveling on the jetstream. This can lead to some very beautiful sunsets!
Skies should be clearer tomorrow, as we return to a more westerly flow aloft.
