MM’s Tues Forecast

Weather forecast issued Tuesday, January 3, 2023

Proud to offer severe weather support for City Fire and other emergency services!
For strong to severe storms and heavy rainfall

Updates will be published as needed today and tonight.

Active Weather Advisories

There are currently no watches at 8:30 but that could certainly change as we go through the day.

At this time it looks like we may have two threat timeframes. The first would be from 10:00-2:00 today, with the other (more serious) being overnight. Nevertheless, let’s be weather-aware all day of any storms that come our way. This system has a “messy” storm mode and storms are likely throughout the day, which makes specific timing very challenging. Stay tuned.

Forecast Discussion & Concerns

The SPC continues to highlight our area in the slight risk for severe storms for today. The slight risk is level 2 out of the 5 severe weather threat levels. The SPC will update this threat throughout the day and I wil pass that info along to you. Hopefully, our threat will decrease.

The overall threat is low, but certainly not zero.

Heavy rainfall may also be a threat.

The tornado threat extends into Kentucky now, shown below.
