Wind Advisory in effect tonight for southerly wind gust to 40+ mph
Weather-Aware Times
Wind gusts tonight and Thursday will likely lead to some sporadic power outages across the plateau. In addition, shallow-rooted trees could fall, as well as any loose limbs. Secure any loose outdoor objects before dark this evening.
Mostly cloudy skies will produce some light drizzle and isolated showers today, with those precip chances dropping as we get into the afternoon. Rain chances increase late tonight, as well as the winds. A wind advisory is in place for tonight and tomorrow morning. A rumble of thunder can’t be ruled out.
The next chance of precip is a very low one and comes Friday night through Saturday night. As temps cool at night, a snowflake may mix in. No accumulation is expected at this time.
Radar Model
This model runs from midnight tonight to noon Thursday. Notice the weakening line of storms moving across Tennessee. The main threat tonight is strong southerly winds ahead of this system that could gust to 40+ mph.
