Winds Continue

The NWS has allowed the high wind warning to expire at 6:00, though gusty winds will continue for several more hours. Gusts to 45 mph are still likely through 9:00pm, subsiding to 25 mph gusts by midnight.

The weekend continues to look sunny and pleasant.

There are no indications of either severe weather or wintry weather for the next week.

Today was my first time in the emergency operations center for a severe weather event and it went very well! There are even opportunities for Facebook live opportunities if things get dicey around here again. Our county is well served by the folks in emergency services here and that should give you a lot of peace of mind. A big thank you to City Fire’s Chris South and the County EMA director Travis Cole for making a home for Meteorologist Mark in the emergency operations center today. I hope we don’t have to use that center much this spring, but we’re all set if we do!

At some point this weekend, I’ll do a write-up on this event for you all. It was an interesting storm system and we’re glad to be seeing the back side of it!

I’ll be at Grinder Coffee House from 11:00 – 1:00 to program weather radios or just chat about the weather! Come on out and see me! Grinder House is even doing a drawing for free weather radio.

You all have a good evening!
