1933- An F-3 tornado touches down four miles west of downtown Nashville, killing 15, injuring 45, and continues for 45 miles, moving through Wilson and Smith Counties. Another tornado in April of 1998 would take nearly the same path.
1870 – The term blizzard was first applied to a storm which produced heavy snow and high winds in Minnesota and Iowa.
