8:10 Update

The storm I’ve been watching closely (circled) is somehow struggling. That’s a good thing! It is producing lightning strikes, but it is struggling to intensify. That is NOT the case with storms to our west. Those storms are very severe but they are moving southward and will miss Cumberland County.

If you know anyone in the Nashville area this evening, you might want to make sure they know about storms that are about to drop in on them. Radar is showing 70 mph winds with those storms.

Pictured below is the current radar. Notice that storm in northeastern Cumberland County is just ahead of a boundary (green speckled line on radar) that actually developed in response to the big storms in Kentucky earlier this evening. If you pay attention to radar you will often notice storms forming along or ahead of those faint little boundaries. In an environment as unstable as ours, even the faintest boundaries can kick off storms. They’re always worth watching!
