We’re in a pattern that features a risk for thunderstorm complexes in the Midwest to dive southeastward and bring us a risk for thunderstorms that could pose a damaging wind threat. Monitor the radar closely if you have outdoor plans and watch for storms in Kentucky that could move our way. This threat will be with us through Sunday.

1886 – The second destructive hurricane in nine days hit the Apalachicola-Tallahassee area.
1908 – A giant fireball, most likely caused by the air burst of a large meteoroid or comet flattens 80 million trees near the Stony Tunguska River in Yeniseysk Governorate, Russia, in the largest impact event in recorded history
1952- Temperature at Nashville reaches 106, marking the 8th consecutive day of 100+ degree readings, a record.
1972 – The entire state of Pennsylvania was declared a disaster area as a result of the catastrophic flooding caused by Hurricane Agnes, which claimed 48 lives, and caused 2.1 billion dollars damage.
