The Storm Prediction Center has issued a severe t-storm watch until 8:00 p.m. Large hail, damaging winds, frequent lightning, and torrential rainfall are all possible with any storm that develops. The atmosphere is very unstable and getting more unstable by the hour.
This watch advises that hail to 1.5 inches in diameter and significant wind gusts to 75 mph. An isolated tornado can’t be ruled out.
If you know anyone at the lake or doing anything outdoors, make sure they know of this threat and that they have substantial shelter to seek if needed. Also, if you hear thunder….you’re close enough to be struck by lightning.
