Forecast Summary

Elevated rain chances continue….

Saturday’s storms will be primarily driven by the heat of the day, much like Friday’s activity. So, the morning hours should be fine, while the afternoon and evening hours could see numerous showers and storms. Activity should die down after sunset.

On Sunday, a front will pass through the area. That means a risk for showers and storms for the whole day, including the morning hours.

If you have outdoor plans this holiday weekend, please make sure you have an indoor back-up plan just in case you need it. If you’re camping out, etc. make sure you have access to a sturdy shelter in case a stronger storm blows up in your area. And remember that if you can hear thunder, you’re close enough to be struck by lightning (even if the sun is shining where you are!). Be safe and have a great holiday weekend!

The front passes through our area just in time to give us a nice Memorial Day. Then, there is uncertainty in what the front does after that. As more data comes in concerning that, rain chances may increase or decrease on Tues and Wed from what you see on the 5-Day below.

Storm Threats

The risks are all low, but not zero. The Storm Prediction Center has placed our region in the MARGINAL RISK for severe storms for both Saturday and Sunday.
