Out of an abundance of caution, the Storm Prediction Center has issued a tornado watch until 6:00 a.m. that includes Putnam, Overton, and Fentress counties. This is for those early Thursday morning storms that I mentioned earlier.
Storms are still west of Nashville and crawling eastward. The line has lost a LOT of steam as it has moved across West TN. There were numerous tornado warnings when the line was near the Mississippi River. Now, there are only two (and they’re not confirmed).
These storms will likely not impact much of Cumberland County.
So, keep your weather radios on tonight, just in case. Again, these storms don’t arrive until 5:00 – 7:00 a.m Thursday. There is still a chance that storms don’t make it this far east, but there’s just enough of a risk for the NWS to feel a watch is warranted.
