Friday Evening Update

Special Update Issued Friday, June 6 at 6:10 pm

Rain and storms have been widespread this evening but, thus far, storms have stayed below severe limits here on the plateau. There was a severe storm warning issued earlier for Bledsoe County but that has moved east.

More strong storms can be seen on radar near Nashville but our rain cooled airmass should lead to those storms weakening as they move our way later this evening.

Keep in mind that we have another severe storm threat tomorrow. The latest guidance, however, suggests the best risk for such storms will be south of our area. I’ll monitor data tonight and see how that forecast trends.

That severe threat on Saturday will come in the afternoon and evening. The morning is currently looking alright. Just like today, as heat and humidity build in the afternoon we will likely see more showers and storms develop.

I’ll keep an eye on the weather this evening and let you know if there’s anything you need to know about. Otherwise, I’ll have a full update in the morning! You all take care.
